The subterranean garage was designed by Geneva studio B29 for a home near Lake Geneva, where the owner – an undisclosed royal – keeps his classic cars and motorcycles.
The project is a sequence of three separate spaces: The entrance, an enclosed space and a double underground parking. This underground space features an advanced mechanism that « swallows » vertically the cars parked over it. The central and main building of the composition consists of a rectangular black brick shell with an external, exposed reinforced concrete structure that supports the extended, long gabled roof. This roof creates an open but covered exterior space in front of the garage offering more spatial options without excessive construction. In the details, an industrial function-oriented style gives to the space a special character that blends interestingly with the rural enviroment.
