White Arkitekter has unveiled the Observation Tower Kärven in Getterön nature reserve, a 12-meter structure that blends innovative design with sustainability. Designed to resemble twisted straws, it features a unique hyperboloid shape made from 140 timber beams and metal rings. The tower’s assembly took just over a week, with each beam installed in two minutes using standard materials, emphasizing efficiency and local craftsmanship. Visitors ascend a spiral staircase to an open-air observation deck, offering stunning panoramic views of the reserve.
